High Level Seamstress (in home work) (Delaware Powell Dublin Worthington)
Piecework sewing high level bridal dresses. This will start as a work-at-home set up with possibly having a location to work as production increases. These are high quality dresses and you will be paid accordingly (It should average to $12-15 an hour, depending on the complexity of the dress and your speed). If you have examples of work I'd love to see it. If you don't, we can do a trial. I will give a tutorial for each style, so you know what is expected. Skills that will be used will be french seams, boning, marking and darts, horsehair braids, linings, hand sewn finishes (nothing too complicated), invisible zippers, gathering/pleats, tulle underskirts, etc. You will not need a serger, everything is done on a sewing machine.
The dresses we make will be sold in select bridal salons, and the styles are artsy, feminine, and vintage inspired. All materials are ethically sourced (think Made in the USA or fair trade), and we do organic/all natural whenever possible. You'll get all of the materials and pattern/instructions, you just need to be able to put them together! This is a really exciting opportunity, and I'm looking to build a company that is creative, socially conscious, family-friendly, and community-oriented. If you think you'd like to be a part of this, please contact us! Sample dresses will start being sewn in June and July, then there will be a break, and orders from stores will be sewn in September.
