Television Sales Position

Television Sales Position

We produce the National Public Television series, "Spotlight On," broadcasting on Public Television Stations, nationwide. If you've ever watched PBS, and seen a short 4 to 5 minute interesting little show in between the scheduled programs . . . it was probably us. This is our 23rd year producing the program.

We are looking for more distribution and exposure in the business marketplace (large corporations frequently love underwriting these shows for the national exposure they gain.)

We need a few marketing and sales professionals with strong verbal and pretty good written communications skills who are very comfortable selling high-ticket items to high-level corporate decision makers. Â You would be an Associate Producer, calling on potential underwriters to have a show produced and aired about their 'issue', or 'cause', or what they want millions of viewers to see.

Most of our Associate Producers find it quite mentally stimulating, because they call on organizations involving 'things' - that interest them. When you call upon an association or large corporation - you'll usually speak to their Director of Advertising, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Marketing or Media - they'll usually be very receptive - because you represent something they want . . . namely national television exposure with guaranteed airings at a low cost, as there's no charge for air time on Public television - BUT . . . the program must be intelligent and educational in nature. They'll like that, too!

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to seek out and identify new prospects for their sales leads and have the skills to connect with decision makers regarding television and media opportunities through telephone sales. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a virtual office, be self-motivated, effective at reaching decision makers and able to build relationships with large organizations over the phone. We have found that retired sales executives seem to do quite well at this position - contacting, exposing and selling new Underwriters to "Spotlight On."
